Michigan HB5687 provides lifetime hunting and fishing licenses for veterans, with fees based on disability ratings.

Michigan HB5687 amends existing laws to allow disabled veterans to purchase lifetime hunting and fishing licenses. Starting July 1, 2027, disabled veterans can buy these licenses, which include various hunting and fishing privileges. The fee for a disabled veteran lifetime hunting license is based on the veteran's disability rating, ranging from no cost for those rated totally and permanently disabled to $100 for those rated 30% or more disabled. Similarly, a disabled veteran lifetime fishing license includes all-species fishing privileges, with fees also based on disability ratings.
