Michigan HB5685 amends penalties for threats and assaults against employees of the Family Independence Agency.

Michigan HB5685 amends the Michigan Penal Code to enhance penalties for threats and assaults against employees of the Family Independence Agency. The bill increases the penalty for causing physical injury to an employee to a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. It also increases the penalty for causing serious impairment of a body function to a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of $1,000 to $5,000, or both.
