Chamber Passed·3/19/26

Provides immunity from nuisance claims for racing facilities and racetracks built before property owners moved in or developed nearby.

Amends Michigan's civil procedure law to grant immunity from nuisance claims to owners or operators of racing facilities or racetracks built before nearby property owners moved in or developed. Immunity applies regardless of changes to the facility, as long as they are lawful. This immunity does not exempt the facility from state or federal environmental laws or health and safety regulations. The area of a racing facility or racetrack is defined as within a 5-mile radius of the property where races are conducted.
