Michigan HB5475 amends state law to allow the Secretary of State to issue state identification cards to parolees. The bill specifies that the Secretary of State shall issue these cards to prisoners upon their release on parole or discharge upon completion of their maximum sentence. The cards must contain the prisoner's legal name, photograph, and other identifying information. The Secretary of State is also authorized to enter into agreements with the United States government to verify the identity of applicants.
