Michigan HB5466 amends sections 2253, 2453, and 5145 of the 1978 Public Health Code to allow the director or local health officer to limit patient visitation in qualified health care facilities during epidemics. Visitation of patients with cognitive impairments is not to be limited. Visitation may be limited by implementing safety measures, establishing procedures, or restricting the number of visitors. Visitation may be prohibited for up to 30 days after an epidemic is declared.
