Michigan HB5406 prohibits health insurers from covering organ transplants from countries known for forced organ harvesting.

Michigan HB5406 amends the insurance code to prohibit health insurers from covering organ transplants if the operation is performed in or the organ is sourced from China or other countries known for forced organ harvesting. "Forced organ harvesting" is defined as the removal of organs from a living individual through coercion, abduction, deception, fraud, or abuse of power. This provision applies to insurers delivering, issuing, or renewing health insurance policies in Michigan.
