Michigan HB5374 requires prevailing wage on certain broadband service projects.

Michigan HB5374 amends the prevailing wage law to require the payment of prevailing wages on certain broadband service projects. These projects include new construction, improvement, maintenance, expansion, alteration, or demolition of broadband service lines, cables, or hardware. The bill defines "broadband developer" and "broadband service" and specifies that the project must be performed by a broadband developer. The changes apply to projects funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or the federal Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund.
