Introduced Text

Michigan HB5328 mandates state government to avoid using drones from companies listed on federal restricted lists.

Michigan HB5328 amends existing law to require public entities to refrain from purchasing or operating drones from companies listed on specific federal restricted lists. These lists include the Department of Defense's list, the Department of Treasury's Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Sanction List, and the Department of Commerce's Entity List. Exceptions are made if the governor declares a state of emergency or disaster, and the drone's operation would aid in the response. The act takes effect contingent on the enactment of House Bill No. 5330.
