Moratorium on employment for certain state officers after leaving public office.
The bill, known as the "state officers public trust guarantee act," establishes a two-year moratorium for state officers leaving public office from accepting employment with or providing services for compensation to any person they contracted with or issued payment to during their tenure. Violation of this act is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. The act takes effect starting January 1, 2026.
