Michigan HB5206 amends the Michigan Occupational Code to introduce a limited cosmetologist license. This license is available to individuals who are at least 17 years old, of good moral character, have completed ninth grade, and have completed a 1,200-hour course of study in a licensed cosmetology school. Those with a limited cosmetologist license can perform hair care, skin care, natural hair cultivation, and manicuring services but are restricted from performing electrology unless separately licensed.
