Michigan HB5205 mandates health insurers to cover breast cancer screening, diagnostic, and rehabilitative services.

Michigan HB5205 amends the state's insurance laws to require health insurers to offer coverage for breast cancer screening, diagnostic, and rehabilitative services. This includes coverage for screening mammography for women aged 35 to 40 every five years and annually for those 40 and older. It also mandates coverage for diagnostic services, outpatient treatment, and rehabilitative services, such as reconstructive surgery and psychological support. The coverage is subject to the same dollar limits, deductibles, and coinsurance as other physical illnesses but exempt from copayments.
