Presumptive coverage for essential workers exposed to infectious diseases during emergencies.

This bill amends the Michigan Workers' Compensation Act to establish a presumption that certain injuries or illnesses of essential workers during a declared state of emergency are work-related. Essential workers include police, conservation officers, and motor carrier enforcement officers. The presumption applies to respiratory and heart diseases, and illnesses resulting from these diseases, that develop during active service. The bill also outlines a process for managing the Christopher R.
