Michigan HB5175 amends the 1951 Public Act 51 to mandate a 10-year warranty on state road projects for design, construction, operation, preservation, and maintenance. Starting January 1, 2026, the Michigan Department of Transportation and local road agencies must obtain contracts that include these provisions for new construction or full reconstruction projects. The contract must allow for renegotiation or withholding of payments if the contractor breaches the contract.
