Expands authority for local law enforcement to close roads for public safety during emergencies.

This bill amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to allow local law enforcement agencies to temporarily control traffic on highways or streets within their jurisdiction if necessary for public safety due to emergencies or events. Such events include large-scale marches, parades, protests, terrorist attacks, or other violent acts. The authority is exercised through police officers or temporary traffic control devices.
