HB5059

Liquor: other; engraving of bottles of spirits; allow. Amends 1998 PA 58 (MCL 436.1101 - 436.2303) by adding sec. 609k.

Chamber Passed·12/18/25

Allows engraving of spirits bottles by vendors, representatives, salespersons, brokers, or third-party service providers.

This bill amends the Michigan Liquor Control Act to allow vendors of spirits, their representatives, salespersons, brokers, or third-party service providers to engrave bottles of spirits. Engraving can occur either before the bottle is sold to a consumer or after the consumer has purchased the bottle from a specially designated distributor. The engraved bottle can then be returned to the distributor for the consumer to pick up. This change does not violate existing regulations.
