Michigan HB5043 amends the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act to redefine industrial hemp as a plant of the genus Cannabis with a THC concentration of 0.3% or less on a dry-weight basis. The bill also regulates the cultivation, processing, distribution, and sale of industrial hemp. It establishes definitions for terms such as "industrial hemp," "marihuana," and "THC." The cannabis regulatory agency is tasked with promulgating rules for issuing state licenses, setting THC limits for products, and implementing safety and security standards for marihuana establishments.
