Michigan HB5036 amends the state's penal code to prohibit knowingly providing false or misleading information in assisted reproduction procedures. This includes misrepresenting the identity or medical history of a donor, or the characteristics of the embryo or gamete used. Health professionals found guilty of using or providing embryos or gametes not expressly consented to by the patient face felony charges with penalties up to 15 years in prison, a $100,000 fine, or both.
