Michigan HB4975 amends the Public Utilities Act to provide credits for customers with frequent power outages.

Michigan HB4975 amends the Public Utilities Act by adding a new section that requires electric utilities to provide credits to customers with frequent power outages. Customers with four or more service interruptions lasting one or more hours in a year receive a $100 credit, while those with more than four interruptions receive a $200 credit. The Michigan Public Service Commission will adjust these credits every five years based on changes in the Consumer Price Index. The commission must announce these adjustments by June 1 of the year they take effect.
