Establishes reimbursement for individuals and local governments for costs incurred during electric service interruptions.

This bill amends the Michigan Public Utilities Commission Act to require electric utilities to reimburse individuals and local governments for costs incurred during electric service interruptions. For individuals whose utilities are paid by their landlord, reimbursement is $50 or the cost of spoiled food, lodging, or other costs incurred, whichever is larger, if the interruption lasts more than 4 but not more than 24 hours. For interruptions exceeding 24 hours, the reimbursement is $200 or the cost of spoiled food, lodging, or other costs incurred, whichever is larger.
