Chamber Passed·3/10/26

Michigan HB4949 modifies liability exemptions for sport shooting ranges in compliance with operation practices.

Michigan HB4949 amends existing law to provide continued operation and exemption from liability for sport shooting ranges that conform to generally accepted operation practices. These ranges are exempt from nuisance actions and noise pollution injunctions if they comply with noise control laws or ordinances at the time of construction or initial operation. The bill also allows for the reconstruction, repair, or restoration of nonconforming buildings damaged by specific events, provided it is completed within one year.
