Michigan HB4851 limits state-owned land in any jurisdiction to 50%.

Michigan HB4851 amends the state's natural resources law to limit the amount of land owned by the Department of Natural Resources to 50% in any jurisdiction. The bill requires the department to submit a strategic plan to the legislature and post it on its website. The plan must divide the state into regions, identify department-managed lands, and set goals for land acquisition and disposition. The department must also consider public input and local government input when developing the plan.
