Michigan HB4784 grants the Upper Peninsula Natural Resources Commission authority over game in the Upper Peninsula.

Michigan HB4784 amends existing laws to grant the Upper Peninsula Natural Resources Commission authority over game in the Upper Peninsula. The bill specifies that only the legislature, the Upper Peninsula commission, or the commission may designate a wildlife species as game and establish the first open season for a game species. The commission must use principles of sound scientific management in its decisions. The commission has exclusive authority to regulate the taking of game that impacts only the Upper Peninsula or has no significant impact outside it.
