Michigan HB4766 amends the Michigan Environmental Protection Act to prohibit the manufacture, sale, and distribution of materials containing plastic microbeads starting January 1, 2026. The law exempts personal care products and cleaning products from this prohibition. Starting January 1, 2027, it also bans the sale of personal care and cleaning products containing plastic microbeads, unless the amount is less than 1 part per million by weight.
