Michigan HB4517 amends the Child Abduction and Missing Child Broadcast Act to provide immunity from liability for radio and television stations that broadcast information about child abductions or missing children from the Michigan Department of State Police. The bill allows these stations to use any method, including social media, to disseminate the information to aid in locating the child or apprehending suspects. This immunity applies only if the broadcast is accurate and pertains to information received under the Michigan Amber Alert Act. The act will not take effect unless House Bill No.
