Allows the Michigan Employment Relations Commission to certify a labor organization as the exclusive bargaining representative of public employees.

This bill amends the Michigan Employment Relations Act to allow the Michigan Employment Relations Commission to certify a labor organization as the exclusive bargaining representative of public employees. The commission must investigate a petition alleging that more than 50% of public employees wish to be represented for collective bargaining. If the commission has reasonable cause to believe a question of representation exists, it must provide a hearing. If more than 50% of employees wish to be represented, the commission must certify the results.
