Michigan HB4438 creates a new act that prohibits employers from retaliating against employees who raise concerns about infection control in the workplace. Employers are barred from taking adverse actions against employees who criticize or raise concerns about the employer's response to or management of any communicable disease. Employees can bring a civil action for appropriate injunctive relief or damages if they allege a violation of this act. The act applies to employees in the classified state civil service and includes the state, political subdivisions, and agents of the employer.
