The bill amends Michigan law to require law enforcement to notify the public via text message of missing seniors or vulnerable adults. It mandates the establishment of a missing senior or vulnerable adult medical alert system plan. This plan must rapidly disseminate information to wireless devices through the existing wireless emergency alert system. The law enforcement agency must notify the Department of State Police of the missing person and request a medical alert.
