Michigan HB4345 provides an exception to the minimum days of pupil instruction requirement for school districts during a declared state of emergency.

Michigan HB4345 amends the state's school aid act to provide an exception to the minimum days of pupil instruction requirement for school districts during a declared state of emergency. Specifically, for the 2024-2025 school year, a district located wholly or partially in a county covered by a state of emergency declared by the governor can be exempt from the minimum number of hours and days of pupil instruction requirement if a majority of the district board votes to exempt the district. This exemption applies only if the district maintains school throughout the entire year.
