Michigan HB4253 amends labor laws to require employers to pay employees accrued leave upon termination.

Michigan HB4253 amends the Michigan Labor and Economic Opportunity Act to require employers to pay employees all accrued paid vacation leave when employment is terminated. The bill specifies that employers must pay employees all wages earned and due, including accrued paid vacation leave, unless the employer has an unlimited paid vacation leave policy or the employee voluntarily leaves employment. The amendments take effect January 1, 2027.
