Michigan HB4190 prohibits physicians from performing gender reassignment surgeries and prescribing certain drugs for minors.

Michigan HB4190 amends the state's public health code to prohibit physicians from performing gender reassignment surgeries on minors and prescribing cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs for minors with the intent to assist them with gender transition. Exceptions are made if the minor has been a resident of Michigan since the effective date of the act and if the physician has determined that terminating the prescription would cause harm to the minor. The bill defines terms such as "biological sex," "cross-sex hormone," "puberty-blocking drug," and "gender transition.
