Repeals the extreme risk protection order act enacted in 2023.

Michigan HB4140 repeals the extreme risk protection order act, 2023 PA 38, which was previously codified in the Michigan Compiled Laws as sections 691.1801 to 691.1821. This bill will remove the legal framework established by the act, which allowed for extreme risk protection orders to be issued to prevent individuals from harming themselves or others. The repeal will take effect only if two other bills, HB 4138 and HB 4139, are also enacted into law during the 103rd Legislature.
