This bill amends Michigan's speed limit determination process to require it to be based on traffic engineering practices. It allows the county road commission, township board, and department of state police to establish speed limits on county highways if they unanimously determine it is necessary. It also allows local road authorities to set modified speed limits on local highways. The speed limit must be in multiples of 5 miles per hour and rounded to a multiple within 5 miles per hour of the eighty-fifth percentile speed.
