Extends presumption of causation for heart and respiratory diseases to certain police, fire, and public safety department members.

This bill amends Michigan's worker's compensation law to extend the presumption of causation for heart and respiratory diseases to certain members of police, fire, and public safety departments. Specifically, it applies to full-time, part-time, paid on-call, or volunteer members who have had 60 months or more active service at the time the cancer manifests. The presumption applies to respiratory and heart diseases or illnesses resulting from these diseases. The bill also establishes the Christopher R.
