Michigan HB4095 amends the insurance code to mandate that insurers reimburse mental health or substance use disorder providers for services rendered within 60 days of receiving a complete credentialing application. Insurers may extend this period by an additional 15 days if additional consideration is needed. If a provider is not employed by a practice or group that has contracted with the insurer, they must be paid the insurer's standard in-network reimbursement rate. If no standard rate exists, the insurer must pay the median rate for providers of the same licensure.
