Introduced Text

Michigan HB4075 modifies the minimum wage schedule, adjusting it annually based on inflation.

Michigan HB4075 amends the minimum wage schedule by adjusting it annually based on inflation. The state treasurer calculates the adjusted minimum wage rate using the consumer price index for urban wage earners and clerical workers. The adjusted rate is published by November 1 and becomes effective January 1 of the following year. However, if the state's unemployment rate is 8.5% or higher for the year before the scheduled increase, the wage increase does not take effect.
