Final Passage·7/2/26

Allows patients to take unused eye drops or ointments after procedures.

This bill amends Michigan's Public Health Code to allow patients to take any unused portion of eye drops or ointments after ophthalmic procedures. The unused drugs must be offered to the patient upon discharge if they are required for continued treatment. The bill also waives counseling requirements for pharmacists dispensing these drugs. The changes apply to both hospitals and freestanding surgical outpatient facilities.
