Michigan HB4018 amends the Michigan Juvenile Code to clarify the conditions under which a juvenile can be transported with an adult in law enforcement custody. The bill specifies that a juvenile under 18 can be transported with an adult if the juvenile is 16 or older, the juvenile and adult are taken into custody at the same time for the same offense, or both were in the same vehicle when the offense was committed. The juvenile must be separated from the adult as soon as possible.
