Massachusetts S954 mandates opioid overdose prevention measures in college housing, including training and availability of opioid antagonists.
Massachusetts S954 requires every state university campus to provide training in the administration of opioid antagonists to resident assistants. Campuses must also maintain opioid antagonists onsite, accessible to resident assistants for use in emergencies involving suspected opioid overdoses among students, staff, or others on college-operated housing premises. The Department of Public Health, in consultation with the Department of Higher Education, will adopt regulations to implement these provisions.
