This bill amends Massachusetts law to increase the penalties for assault or assault and battery on emergency medical technicians, ambulance operators, ambulance attendants, or health care providers. The revised penalties include imprisonment in state prison for up to five years or in a jail or house of correction for up to two and a half years. The bill also removes the option of a fine as a penalty.
