Expands access to the higher education endowment matching program for non-profit institutions of higher education that serve low-income women.
This bill amends Section 15E of chapter 15A of the General Laws to expand access to the higher education endowment matching program. It allows the commonwealth to contribute funds to the endowment or capital outlay program of non-profit institutions of higher education that provide a 2-year, accredited academic program granting associate degrees to low-income women and do not charge tuition or fees. The commonwealth's contribution will match private contributions based on a specified matching formula.
