The bill amends Chapter 118E of the General Laws to include Medicaid graduate medical education funding for primary care, behavioral health, and other physician residency training in fields experiencing physician shortages. Payments will be based on the Medicare direct graduate medical education methodology. The executive office must include these payments in its reimbursement rates to qualifying acute care hospitals.
