The bill establishes the School Supplies for Teachers Program to provide financial and technical assistance to eligible teachers for purchasing school supplies online. Eligible teachers must be employed in good standing at a public school in Massachusetts and have the primary responsibility of providing classroom instruction to students for at least 60% of each school day on average, measured weekly. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will allocate funds for eligible teachers to use at their discretion for online purchases from authorized ecommerce vendors.
