Honors the commonwealth's commitment to public school districts by reimbursing them for charter school tuition increases.
This bill amends the General Laws to ensure that public school districts are reimbursed by the commonwealth for increases in charter school tuition. If a district's total charter school tuition amount exceeds the previous year's amount, the district will receive reimbursement. The reimbursement is 100% of the increase in the year it occurs, 80% in the following year, 60% in the second year, and 40% in the third year. This reimbursement is subject to appropriation and does not reduce funds distributed under chapter 70.
