Massachusetts S330 aims to end discriminatory outcomes in vocational school admissions.
Massachusetts S330 amends Chapter 74 of the General Laws to introduce a lottery system for admissions to vocational-technical education schools and programs. If a school fills a vacancy after the initial admissions cycle, it must fill the vacancy with the next available student on the waitlist. The commissioner will collect data on race, ethnicity, students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students, and English language learners. This data will be made public annually.
