Massachusetts S3106 bans the use of intentionally added DEHP in medical devices.
Massachusetts S3106, the Toxic-Free Medical Devices Act of 2025, prohibits the manufacture, sale, or distribution of intravenous solution containers and tubing products containing intentionally added Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP). This ban takes effect on January 1, 2035, for tubing products and January 1, 2030, for containers. The bill also prohibits replacing DEHP with other ortho-phthalates in these products. Exceptions allow for trace amounts of DEHP if it is not used for a functional or technical effect and does not exceed 0.1 percent weight per weight.
