Introduced·4/8/26
Introduced Text

Massachusetts S3045 aims to enhance the sustainability of birth centers and the midwifery workforce.

Massachusetts S3045 mandates that insurance policies, contracts, and agreements provide equal payment rates for services rendered by certified nurse-midwives and licensed certified professional midwives as those performed by physicians. It also requires health maintenance contracts and medical service agreements to offer the same payment rates for midwifery services. The bill further ensures that the Group Insurance Commission pays the same rates for midwifery services to commonwealth employees.
