Massachusetts S3018 authorizes the town of Berkley to recall elected officials through a voter-initiated process.

Massachusetts S3018 allows the town of Berkley to recall elected officials. Twenty-five registered voters can initiate a recall by filing an affidavit with the town clerk. If the officer does not resign within five days, a recall election is scheduled. The officer continues in office until a successor is elected. If the recall is successful, the officer is removed and replaced by the highest vote-getter. The recalled officer cannot be appointed to another town office for two years.
