Massachusetts S3018 authorizes the town of Berkley to recall elected officials through a petition process.

Massachusetts S3018 allows the town of Berkley to recall elected officials. Twenty-five registered voters can initiate a recall by filing an affidavit with the town clerk. The officer must resign within five days or a recall election is scheduled within 64 to 90 days. If recalled, the officer is removed and a successor is elected. The recalled officer cannot be appointed to another town office for two years. The act takes effect upon passage.
