Establishes a fund to provide supplemental funding to childcare providers serving high-risk children.
The bill creates the Disproportionate Share Childcare Provider Fund under the Department of Early Education and Care. This fund will provide supplemental funding to eligible childcare provider agencies that serve a disproportionate number of high-risk children. To qualify, agencies must offer center-based, family, and after-school programs with a licensed capacity of over 150 children, serve at least 95% children from families at or below the federal poverty level, not be HeadStart providers or eligible for federal Community Anti-Poverty Agency funding, derive at least 90% of their revenue.
