Massachusetts S2543 strengthens health care protections by prohibiting disciplinary actions against health care providers and professionals for providing or assisting in gender-affirming and reproductive health care services. It also prevents these services from being used as a basis for altering custody, parenting time, or visitation, or for findings of abuse, neglect, or maltreatment in court proceedings. The bill mandates that emergency medical conditions, including those related to reproductive health, must be treated in acute-care hospitals.
