Establishes a process for transferring motor vehicles to designated beneficiaries upon the owner's death.
The bill amends Chapter 90D of the General Laws to allow motor vehicle owners to designate beneficiaries who will inherit the vehicle upon their death. Owners can designate beneficiaries on the vehicle's certificate of title, and beneficiaries can apply for a new certificate of title and registration within 60 days of the owner's death. If no beneficiaries survive, the vehicle becomes part of the owner's estate. The transfer is not considered testamentary and does not limit creditors' rights under other laws.
